Brooklyn, N.Y. – Forward Mohmed Ali Sogoba scored twice to lead the Lehman College men's soccer team to a 4-1 win over visiting Pratt Institute in a non-conference encounter at South Field on Thursday evening. The Lightning go to a 1-2 overall record, while the Cannoneers drop to a 0-2 mark.
Sogoba opened the scoring for Lehman in 16th minute off an assist from midfielder
Cameron Dennis.
Two minutes into the second half,
Cameron Dennis notched his first collegiate tally off a pass from midfielder
Brandon Dennis for 2-0 Lightning lead.
Sogoba had his second goal of the game in the 57th minute-mark before defender
Abdul Mateen Aminu scored four minutes later for a 4-0 Lehman advantage.
Forward Griffin Benkovszky got the Cannoneers on the board with a penalty kick tally with two minutes remaining, however the Lightning held on for the victory.
Lehman returns to action next Saturday (September 16th) when it hosts FDU-Florham in non-conference game at South Field with kickoff set for 11 am ET.
