Brooklyn, N.Y . – The Lehman College women's volleyball team posted a three-set victory (25-9, 25-9, 25-13) against Medgar Evers College before dropping a CUNYAC match in three sets to hosts Brooklyn College (7-25, 15-25, 9-25) at West Quad Center on Saturday.
After winning the first two sets, the Lightning (5-9; 2-1 CUNYAC) trailed 2-1 early in the third set against Medgar Evers Cougars (1-12; 0-3 CUNYAC). However, Lehman went on a 24-11 run to take the set and the match.
Alanis Vasquez led the Lightning offense with six kills, while
Jessica Narvaez dished out 14 assists.
In the nightcap, the Brooklyn Bulldogs (7-8; 1-1 CUNYAC) won the first set before trailing in the second set 4-2 against Lehman. Then, Brooklyn went on a 23-11 run to win the set and then claimed the match with a victory in the third.
Arianna Calderon notched five kills for the Lightning, while
Ana Mena had six assists with 12 digs.
Lehman is back in action on Monday (October 7th) when it travels again to Brooklyn, to take on Pratt Institute, in a non-conference match, at 7 pm ET.
