Kai Parris scored 24 points to lead the Lehman College men's basketball team to a 67-62 victory against visiting St. Joseph's University-LI, in a non-conference encounter, at The APEX Main Gym on Tuesday evening. The Lightning go to a 5-3 overall record, while the Golden Eagles dropped to a 1-7 mark.
After a 31-31 deadlock at the intermission, St. Joseph's-LI took the lead for most of the second half and with 2:15 remaining had a four-point advantage (62-58).
After a three-pointer by Lehman guard
Kofi Mends, Parris notched a jumper to give the hosts a one-point lead (63-62) with 1:25 left in the game. Then, guard
Kahleem Jennings hit consecutive pairs of free-throws the final 21 seconds for the Lightning victory.
Jennings and Mends each had nine points, while forward
Lasana Camara added eight points with 10 rebounds. Center
Amar Ndiaye also notched eight points for Lehman.
The Lightning are back in action on Saturday (December 7th) when they travel to Teaneck, N.J. to take on Division I's FDU, in a non-conference game, with tip-off set for 1 pm ET.
