Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team dropped its home opener twin-bill to non-conference opponent Saint Elizabeth University, 9-1 and 16-0, at South Field on Thursday. The Lightning go to a 2-3-1 overall record, while the Eagles improved to a 3-4 mark.
The highlight for Lehman in the opener was shortstop
Patria Sanchez as she went two-for-two from the plate with an RBI, while outfielder
Lizbeth Perez was one-for-three, a triple, and scored the only run for the hosts.
Meanwhile, infielder
Yudelis Pena had the Lightning's only hit in the game's nightcap.
Lehman returns to action on Saturday (March 16th) when it travels to take on Purchase College in a non-conference doubleheader with first pitch set for 11 am ET.
