Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team lost CUNYAC twin-bill to visiting Hunter College, 10-1, 11-4, on Monday at South Field. The Lightning go to a 7-16-1 overall record and 2-6 in CUNYAC action, while the Hawks improved to an 11-15 mark and 6-2 in conference play.
After three innings of action, the score was tied at 1-1 in the doubleheader opener, before Hunter got two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and three each in the sixth and seventh for the win. Outfielder
Lizbeth Perez was two-for-three for the Lightning with a run scored while catcher
Jelene Figueroa was one-for-two.
In the nightcap, Lehman-Hunter was tied at 3-3 after three innings of play, before the visitors scored three tuns in the fourth to regain the lead and eventually pull away for the victory. Perez was two-for-four with a run scored and RBI for the Lightning, while infielder
Kaycee Isley was two-for-four with an RBI.
Lehman continues its home stand at South Field when it takes on New Jersey City University, in a non-conference twin-bill, at 3 pm ET.
