Bronx, N.Y. – For the first time since 2018, the Lehman College men's volleyball team advanced to the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals as it defeated visiting Brooklyn College in three sets (25-16, 25-16, 25-22), in the tournament's opening round, on Tuesday evening at The APEX Main Gym.
After winning the first two sets, the Lightning (11-14) trailed late in the third set as the Bulldogs (12-16) took a 22-21 lead. Lehman scored the next four points to claim the set and the match.
Alain Abreu Esteva led the Lightning offense with 12 kills and grabbed nine digs, while
Ray Rodriguez notched five kills and 13 digs.
Almir Pepic hit seven kills, while
Christian Agudo dished out 32 assists.
Lehman now advanced to the CUNYAC Semifinals on Thursday (April 11th) and will take on the hosts Baruch College.
