The Lehman College women's volleyball team traveled to Manhattan this evening and came out on the short end of a 3-0 decision against John Jay. Despite the loss, the Lightning still qualified for the CUNYAC Tournament as the number six seed. Their opponent is still to be determined at this hour.
Lehman fell behind 8-0 in the first set. The Lightning then scored four of the next five points but that would be as close as they would get before falling 25-11. The Bloodhounds went on to win the second set 25-13 and the third set 25-12.
Lehman now stands at 4-14 overall and 2-5 in league play. Lehman concludes the regular season Thursday night at home as they face off against Albertus Magnus at 7 PM. Before the match, the Lightning will recognize the seniors on the squad before the start of the match.
John Jay improves to 19-6 overall and 7-0 in the CUNYAC. The Bloodhounds will be the number one seed in next week's CUNYAC Tournament.
