Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a 19-point, six-rebound and five steal performance by guard Emily Kennedy, the Lehman College women's basketball team lost its second consecutive game at home as it dropped a 78-72 non-conference encounter to Alvernia University, at The APEX Main Gym, on Monday. The Lightning go to a 6-5 overall ledger, while the Golden Wolves improve to a 4-6 mark.
After trailing by a single point at the intermission (38-37), Lehman battled back in the third quarter to tie the match (54-54). However, Alvernia outscored the hosts 24 to 18 in the final period to claim the victory.
Guard Heaven Figueroa was a rebound (nine) shy of a 'double-double' as she notched 16 points for the Lightning, while teammate Nelson Asamoah also posted 16 points. Guard Isabela Araujo added 10 points with six boards and five steals.
Lehman will look to close out its 2025 home-stand on Tuesday (December 30th) when it takes on DeSale University, in a non-conference game, at The APEX Main Gym, with tip-off set for 2 pm ET.
