Cedar Crest College, from Allentown, PA came to the Bronx and handed Lehman (2-2) a pair of losses on the softball diamond.
In game one, the Falcons blanked the Lightning 10-0. The Lightning got hits from Lizbeth Perez (2), Yudelis Pena, Jireh Espina and Jelene Figueroa but it was not enough to plate any runs.
In game two, Lehman took a brief 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Pena reached first on a bunt single with one out and proceeded to steal second. After a Patty Snachez single the Lightning had runners on the corners. The Lightning again sent both runners in motion and scored the first fun of the game. THe Falcons tied the score in the top of the second and in the third broke the game wide open by scoring 13 runs. Lehman added a run in the third, fourth and fifth inning for the final margin of victory (14-4). In the third, Lizbeth Perez led off the frame with a walk and stole second. She advanced on back to back sacrifice flies by Pena and Sanchez. In the fourth inning, Angelina Perez walked and was pinch ran for by Natalie Kola. Kola advanced to second on a Nicolle Swierzek single. Crystal Lopez was able to advance the runners with a ground out to first and Kola scored on a wild pitch. Lehman's run in the fifth came after a Sanchez walk and an Espina single.
The Lightning are back in action on Wednesday as they travel to Sarah Lawrence for a pair of games.
