Lightning Hosts Its Annual Athletics Awards Dinner

Bronx, NY –  The Lehman College Athletic Department hosted its annual athletic awards dinner on its campus. 

Heavan Figueroa (women's basketball) was named the recipient of the Presidents Award.  Kai Parris (men's basketball) was the Male Athlete of the Year and Emily Huerta (women's soccer) was named the Female Athlete of the Year. 

Kimarea Brown (women's volleyball) was named the Outstanding Senior while Gabriela Vargas (women's tennis) was named the department's Female Rookie of the Year and Emmanuel Cochran (men's volleyball) was the Male Rookie of the Year.  

Also, Marcos Rosario (men's swimming) and Vitoria Heloany Reis (women's tennis) were recognized as Scholar Athletes being the seniors with the highest-grade point averages. 

Others receiving major awards included: Emmanuel Oladosu winning the Charlie Greenberg Memorial Community Impact Award, Nelson Benzan Jr. (men's track & field) being named the Ed Kramer Memorial Humanitarian Award winner, Justin Chamorro (baseball) was the recipient of the Pedro Vialet Memorial Perseverance Award and Richie Magaribi (men's tennis) was voted the winner of the Paula Soto Spirit of Athletics Award.
