Nava-Herrera brings a wealth of experience in academic coaching, student advising, and program coordination, along with a strong background in educational equity and compliance.
A proud alumna of Lehman College, Nava-Herrera earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Departmental Honors and induction into
Phi Beta Kappa. Her academic excellence was consistently recognized through placements on the Dean's List and the Presidential Scholars List.
In her most recent role as a Non-Teaching Adjunct and College Assistant with Lehman's Instructional Support Services Program (ISSP), Nava-Herrera played an instrumental role in providing individualized academic coaching, developing outreach strategies, and supporting students' holistic academic and professional growth. She was also responsible for onboarding new coaches, coordinating internal communications, and contributing to workshop development and cross-campus partnerships.
Before her work with ISSP, she served as a Senior Post-Secondary Specialist with CUNY K16 Initiatives, where she led a team of outreach professionals supporting over 4,000 graduating high school seniors in navigating college enrollment and post-secondary planning. Her leadership and attention to detail helped ensure compliance with organizational standards and student success metrics.

In her new position, Nava-Herrera will oversee academic support services for student-athletes, helping them maintain eligibility and balance the demands of athletics and academics. She will also assist with NCAA compliance efforts, drawing from her broad knowledge of higher education support systems, student caseload management, and regulatory adherence.
