The Lehman College Women's soccer team dropped their open 2-1 against the University of Valley Forge (2-3).
The Lightning fell behind 1-0 three and a half minutes into the contest as the Patriots capitalized on a direct free kick 22 yards out. Just over a minute later, Lehman answered with the equalizer off the foot of Chistalyn Thomas. The freshman was able to split a pair of defenders in the box and slide the ball under the Patriots diving goal keeper. The Lightning had a chance to take the lead later in the first half but could not convert from the penalty spot. Valley Forge netted the game winner with 13 minutes remaining. The Lightning return to action on Tuesday night as they travel to Old Westbury to face the Panthers at 3:30 PM.
