Newport News, Va. – Despite 23 points, eight rebounds and steals performance by guard
Heaven Figueroa, the Lehman College women's basketball team fell by a score of 91-57 to the hosts Christopher Newport University, in a non-conference encounter, on Sunday, at the Freeman Center. The Lightning go to an 8-7 overall mark, while the Captains improved to a 15-3 ledger.
Lehman trailed by just three points (12-9) at the end of the first quarter, then Christopher Newport outscored the visitors 33 to 13 to take a 23-point lead and never looked back.

Isabela Araujo notched 11 points for the Lightning, while teammate
Emily Kennedy added 10 points and nine rebounds.
Lehman will return to CUNYAC action on Wednesday (January 14th) when it welcomes York College-NY, at The APEX Main Gym, with tip-off set for 5 pm ET.
