Brooklyn, N.Y. – Despite a 23-point performance from guard
Sage Fanelli, the Lehman College women's basketball team fell by a score of 84-65 to the hosts Brooklyn College, in a CUNYAC encounter, on Friday, at the West Quad Gym. The Lightning dropped to a 10-9 overall record and 5-3 in CUNYAC action, while the Bulldogs improved to a 15-3 mark and are perfect 8-0 in conference play.
Lehman trailed by seven points (22-15) after the first quarter, then Brooklyn went on a 21 to 6 run in the second period to pull away and never looked back as it posted its 15th victory in the last 16 head-to-head meetings.
The other highlight for the Lightning was guard
Heaven Figueroa as she notched 20 points which she now surpassed 1,000 points scored in her collegiate career.
Lehman will look to get back on winning track next Saturday (January 31st) when it hosts Medgar Evers College, in a CUNYAC match, at The APEX Main Gym, with tip-off set for noon.
