Bronx, N.Y. – Despite a pair of 'double-double' performances, the Lehman College women's volleyball team still dropped a 3-1 decision (24-26, 23-25, 25-22, 18-25) to visiting Brooklyn College on Tuesday evening at The APEX Main Gym. With the loss, the Lightning move to 2-16 overall and 1-4 in CUNYAC play, while the Bulldogs improve to 7-11 overall and 4-1 in conference action.
Alanis Vasquez led the Lightning roster with 14 kills and 17 digs, while teammate
Ayah Hamdaoui orchestrated the offense with 24 assists alongside 19 digs.
After narrowly dropping the first two sets by just two points each, Lehman fought back to claim the third frame. However, Brooklyn stifled the comeback attempt by securing the fourth set to capture the match.
Chloe Colon contributed six kills and 17 digs to the Lightning effort, and
Olivia Boothe recorded four kills to go with four service aces.
Lehman will wrap up their current home stand at The APEX Main Gym on Thursday, October 29th, when they host York College-NY for a CUNYAC match-up at 6 pm ET.
