Langhorne, Pa. – The Lehman College softball team lost a non-conference twin-bill (16-1, 10-4) to the hosts Cairn University at the Stillman Complex Turf Field on Wednesday. The Lightning go to a 1-6 overall record, while the Highlanders improved to a 3-9 mark.
In the doubleheader opener, Cairn jumped out to a 12-0 lead after the first two innings of action and never looked back. Infielder
Glenys Gonzalez scored the only run for Lehman as she was one-for-one from the plate, while outfielder

Sky Rodriguez were each one-for-two.
In the nightcap, the Lightning took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third, however, the Highlanders scored twice in the bottom half of the inning then added six more in the fourth for a 9-2 advantage. After each side added a run in the fifth inning, and were scoreless in the sixth, Lehman attempted a comeback in the seventh but could only manage a run as Cairn held on for the victory. Catcher
Lanaiyah Henriquez was two-for-four with a run scored and RBI for the Lightning, while infielder
Nicolle Swierczek went one-for-three and drove in a run.
Lehman is back in action next Thursday (April 2nd) when it finally hosts its first twin-bill at South Field as it takes on non-conference opponent William Paterson University at 3 pm ET.
