Emily Kennedy notched a 'double-double' (21 points, 24 rebounds) for the Lehman College women's basketball team, however the squad dropped a 75-69 overtime ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) Division III opening round encounter to hosts Keene State College on Saturday at the Spaulding Gym.
The Lightning ended its season with a 16-12 overall record, while the Owls improved to a 19-9 mark and will advance to the ECAC Semifinals against Brooklyn College next Saturday (March 14th).
After trailing by 19 points at the end of the first quarter (30-11), Lehman came back with a 20 to 9 run in the second period to cut Keene State's advantage to just eight points going into the intermission (39-31).
Still trailing the Owls (52-56) heading into the fourth quarter, the Lightning went on a 14 to 8 run to tie the games, 60-60, to force overtime. In the extra period, the Keene State outscored Lehman 15 to 9 to post the victory.
Guard Sage Faneilli also added 21 points for Lehman, while teammate
Isabela Araujo registered 15 points and seven boards.
