Bronx, N.Y. – A collegiate-best four goals from forward Amy Quintuna powered the Lehman College women's soccer team to a dominant 9-0 shutout victory over visiting Saint Elizabeth University on Friday at South Field. With the non-conference win, the Lightning evened their overall record at 1-1, while the Eagles dropped to 0-1.
Lehman wasted no time seizing control of the match:
• 7th Minute: Quintuna opened the scoring for Lehman, striking her first career collegiate goal.
• 9th Minute: Forward Jensy Peri doubled the lead just two minutes later, also netting her first collegiate tally.
• 16th Minute: Defender Claudia Diaz headed home Lehman's third goal off a perfectly placed corner kick from midfielder Stephanie Roldan.
• 18th Minute: Peri found the back of the net for a second time, converting an assist from midfielder Emily Huerta.
• 27th Minute: Huerta joined the scoring column herself, notching her second goal of the young season.
• 32nd Minute: Midfielder Hailey Suquilanda extended the lead further.
• Halftime: Quintuna struck again just before the break, sending Lehman into the locker room with a commanding advantage.
Quintuna continued her historic afternoon in the second half. She completed her first collegiate hat-trick in the 62nd minute, before adding her spectacular fourth goal just four minutes later to cap the scoring at 9-0.
With the performance, Quintuna became the first Lehman player to score four goals in a single game since September 10, 2024.
The Lightning backline put on a masterclass, suffocating the Eagles' offense. Goalkeepers Katelyn Rice and Leonor Ramirez-Vasquez split time in net, facing just two total shots from Saint Elizabeth to combine for the clean sheet.
Lehman looks to carry this momentum forward as they continue their home-stand at South Field on Tuesday, September 15. The Lightning will host the College at Old Westbury in a non-conference match-up starting at 4 pm ET.
