The 411 on George Flores: George Flores comes to the Lightning with great experience at the catcher position. Coined a starter by Head Coach John Quirk, Flores will hope to keep opposing baserunners at bay with his ability to throw out players attempting to steal. At the dish, he was the ability to foul off pitches and extend his at-bats, making life difficult for the opposing pitcher.
Coach Quirk’s comments on George: "George will split time with Amadoernesto at catcher. He'll probably catch a majority of the season. He has a very good arm and he is pesky at the plate. He also has a very good eye."
