The 411 on Brian Cubero: High expectations surround Lehman's pitching staff in 2009, and freshman sensation Brian Cubero is a big reason why. Already possessing the mechanics to be a dominating presence on the mound, Cubero will look to give the Lightning everything that he has. He will be expected to pitch against conference opponents in a role that Head Coach John Quirk sees fit for him, and he's looking forward to the challenge of being thrown into the middle of a race for the CUNY playoffs.

Coach Quirk's Comments on Brian Cubero: "Brian will be our top pitching freshman this season. He has a rocket for an arm and he needs to work on his control. Every team in the CUNY conference will know his name by season's end."
