The 411 on Matthew Arvelo: Matthew Arvelo returns to the Lightning for another season, penciled into the No. 2 spot in the lineup for Lehman. A season ago, he played in 32 games, starting 31 of them, hitting .239, scoring 17 runs and driving in 18. He also had a great eye at the plate, walking 15 times, a total good for second-best on the squad. Arvelo also saved many runs with his glove, and he is one of the best fielders on the team.
Coach Quirk’s comments on Matthew: "Matthew will be our No. 2 hitter this season, and we're expecting him to contribute and set the tone for the meat of our order. He is a slick-fielding first baseman, has a great eye, and knows the game of baseball very well. He's a keeper.
