Chris Delgado was introduced as the Lightning Head Baseball Coach on July 1, 2024.
This past spring Delgado served as the Interim Head Coach. Delgado is an accomplished sports professional with a strong background in coaching and athletics administration. He excels in team management, scheduling, and NCAA compliance. His role includes overseeing team operations, conducting recruitment both domestically and internationally, and implementing mental health initiatives for student-athletes.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Delgado is the CEO and Head Trainer at Delgado Baseball Training, where he founded and manages operations. He has successfully built relationships with professional scouts, equipment vendors, and local programs while developing comprehensive training programs for athletes. His entrepreneurial skills are evident in his strategic planning, budgeting, and social media coordination efforts.
Previously, he held leadership roles as the Head Baseball Coach at Warrior Baseball Academy and MVP Baseball, where he demonstrated a commitment to player development and team success. He has a proven track record in enhancing player skills, fostering mental toughness, and achieving outstanding athlete retention rates.
Delgado holds a B.S. in Business Administration & Marketing from Lehman College and an Advanced High School Diploma from Truman High School in Bronx, NY. His dedication to sports coaching and mentorship is reflected in his ability to create positive team cultures and drive athletic excellence.
While earning his degree from Lehman he was a member of the Lightning baseball team from 2018 -2023.
