The 411 on Emmanuel Vera: Emmanuel Vera attended Lehman High school in the Bronx. Wanting to experience the college life away from home, Vera attended NSU-Oklahoma for two years before joining Lehman. Last season, he became one of the team's reliable options on the mound, as he appeared in 12 games, posting a record of 6-4 and recording a team-high 59 strikeouts. He'll be expected to be one of the team's aces in 2009.
Coach Quirk’s comments on Emmanuel: “Manny Vera is our best pitcher, our stopper. He also starts at second base for us. We feel that with his work ethic and his will to continue to improve himself, that he'll receive strong consideration for the CUNYAC Pitcher of the Year award."
