Vantroi Chapman finished his tenth season with the Lightning in 2014-15.
Eager to create opportunites for young men following a playing career with Lehman that stretched from 1999 through 2002, Chapman joined the coaching staff in 2002 before leaving in 2007. Following a brief hiatus, Chapman returned to the sidelines at Lehman, bringing with him the same high energy personality that defined him as a player. Integral in player development, running practice, scouting, match-ups, and strengthening team moral, Chapman has helped attract some of Lehman’s top players to the campus during his tenure including Andre Bagot, Ralph Mojica, Sekani Francis, Willy Vargas, Duane Rhoden, Kemar Irving, Alain De La Cruz., and Yve Jay Modi.
A Bronx native, Chapman sports a legacy with Lehman that goes back to his parents, both graduates of the Bronx school, and particularly his father, who was an All-Star baseball player for the Lightning and who helped create the Dominican Students Association.
