Quaseem Weems comes to the Lightning after playing for a very good Beacon High School basketball program. Classified by head coach Steven Schulman as a "versatile" ballplayer, Weems, nicknamed "Tayshaun Prince" (a reference to a Detroit Pistons workhorse ballplayer), has long arms and can shoot the three ball.

As the preseason has progressed, Weems has shown more and more intensity and toughness, two aspects that will be very critical if the freshman is to become a significant part of the plan for this season.

With hard work and determination, look for Weems to be called upon to knock down some key three-point shots this season and look for him to become mentally and physically tougher as the season progresses.
