Yarmese Jones

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
The 2022-23 season marked Yarmese Jones debut as a collegiate coach.  She was brought on board to instill the same discipline, work ethic, and scoring/rebounding prowess she had as a player into the Lehman Lightning.

As a player at Lehman, Jones put up some impressive numbers including a few career highs that made the championship run very exciting. In February of 2015, she scored a Lehman career high of 19 points and 15 rebounds against York College.  In January of 2016, she had 7 steals which helped the Lightning walk away with a huge win against John Jay College.

Jones’ last season as a player ended with the Lightning going 20-8 and being one of the best in Lehman women’s basketball history. Saving one of her best efforts of the season for the CUNYAC Championship, she recorded a double double to lead the Lightning to the CUNYCA title; scoring10 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.

Before coming to Lehman, Jones was a standout at Mohwak Valley CC, one of the top JUCO programs, where she led the Hawks to a regional title.
