Jeff Menaker

Jeffrey Menaker returned to Lehman in August 2021 as head men's tennis coach and associate head women's coach. A senior professional at Sutton East Tennis Club in Manhattan, Menaker served previously as head coach of the Lightning tennis programs from 2014-2015.
In his previous stint at Lehman, Menaker developed and recruited the women's team that reached the CUNYAC Championship Final in 2016. Menaker also served on the ECAC Men's Championship Committee during that time.
Menaker left Lehman in January 2016 to be director of tennis at Hofstra University on Long Island. At Hofstra, he coached the men and women to their highest win totals of the previous decade as well as several first-ever wins in Colonial Conference play, including the Pride's first-ever win in the CAA women's tournament.   Before coming to Lehman, Menaker coached the men's tennis program at Yeshiva University from 2010 through 2013. He helped build a roster that secured the first Skyline Conference title and first NCAA tournament bid, in any sport, in the 128-year history of the university.   A New York native, Menaker also coached scholastic tennis. At Bronx High School of Science, he led the Wolverines to the 2015 PSAL girls' team championship while guiding two National High School All-Americans and multiple New York City singles and doubles champions. Menaker coached at Edgemont High School in Westchester County, where he mentored the 2013 New York State girls' doubles champions. He was honored in 2014 by the NYSPHSAA Section 1 Coaches Association with the Jim San Marco Award for Outstanding Leadership.   Over five years at Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, Menaker guided the varsity girls to a 55-8 regular season record, three Manhattan/Bronx league titles, five consecutive Mayor's Cup appearances, a spot in the 2009 PSAL Championship match, and several NYJTL All-Academic Team Awards.   Menaker served on the NYSPHSAA state tournament seeding committee, the PSAL advisory committee, and, in 2014, he helped coach the PSAL boys' state tournament team to its first ever NYSFSSAA points championship.
With the United States Tennis Association, Menaker was the Junior Team Tennis Coordinator for the Metro Region in 2012. He is director of the San Marco Boys' Tennis Invitational. Founded in 2013, the event features the top public, private, and parochial high school tennis teams in New York State.   A graduate of Skidmore College, Menaker walked on for the Thoroughbreds in his freshman year. While studying abroad at the University of Adelaide, he was captain of the Lincoln College tennis team and later served as head coach of the Lincoln men's basketball team.
Jeff lives in Westchester with his wife and three children.
