No stranger to The APEX as former Lightning volleyball outside hitter, Bonilla made his return to Lehman in the Fall of 2022 as he previously spent four seasons (2010-2013) as assistant coach to both programs.
During his tenure with the women's side the Lightning posted a 64-52 overall record and advanced to CUNYAC Post-Season Tournament all four times while reaching the semifinals on three occasions. The Bronx native also compiled a 58-52 ledger while assisting the men's volleyballers while also reaching CUNYAC Semis twice.
The former Walton High School outsider hitter, Bonilla is also the girl's coach at All-Star Volleyball Club in Bronx, where he coordinates, supervise and design training/game programs since 2014.
Bonilla has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Spanish from Lehman College.
