You can put the first win of the season in the books for the Lehman men's and women's swimming teams.
Facing host Brooklyn College at its new aquatics center on Tuesday night, the Lightning men swam by the Bulldogs by a score of 98-62 while the women followed suit with an 83-63 victory.
The Lightning was particularly strong in capturing the men's 200-yard medley relay, men's 200-yard freestyle, men's and women's 50-yard freestyle, men's and women's 200-yard IM, men's 100-yard butterfly, and the men's and women's 100-yard freestyle.
“Overall our swimmers swam well,” said head swim coach
Peter Kiernan. “The rookies and first year swimmers continued their improvement by recording faster times, doing a better job controlling their race pace, and also in the execution of their stroke technique and mechanics.”
Lehman will take an extended break for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and returns to action on December 2nd when it hosts SUNY Maritime.
