Meet Results

The Lehman women's swim team defeated conference rival John Jay College on Monday night by the score of 103-98 to move to 2-0 in the CUNYAC.

The Lightning was led by multiple event winners Basilisa Alonso (200 IM, 100 Fly), Tanaka Nyemba (200 Free, 100 Free), Adriana Navarette (50 Free, 100 Back), Silvia Churchill (100 Breast) and Mailys Besnard (1M Diving, 3M Diving). Both Churchill and teammate Stephanie Segarra recorded personal best times in the 100-yard breaststroke, with Churchill clocking in at 1:29.08 and Segarra recording a time of 1:37.28.

“It was a good night of competition as many of the Lehman swimmers came away with their personal best times,” said Lightning swim coach Peter Kiernan. “Our freestyle group is swimming fast and the breaststroke group had two best times as well.”

Both the men's and women's team return to action on December 2nd when they welcome in local rival SUNY Maritime.
