Bronx, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's swimming team dropped a 116-75 decision to visiting John Jay College at The APEX Pool on Thursday evening.  

Gisely Velez and Xhesika Malecaj, along with Andrew Damaso and Romulo Valadez of the Lightning men's side were all honored prior to the meet.

The highlight for Lehman on Thursday was Amya Sanchez as she claimed gold in the 25 Butterfly and Backstroke with times of 15.81 and 16.85, respectively.

Liberty Almanzar also finished first for the Lightning in the 25 Breaststroke as she clocked in at 18.53.

Lehman is scheduled to compete at the Metropolitan Championships in New Brunswick, N.J. next weekend (February 13-15).
