Game 1 Box Score
Game 2 Box Score

The Lehman College softball team (2-6 Overall, 0-0 CUNYAC) dropped a pair of non-conference games to SUNY Old Westbury on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Panthers by scores of 10-2 and 10-0.

For SUNY Old Westbury in game one, it was Deborah Ciccarelli earning the victory tossing a seven strikeout complete game, five-inning, three-hitter, allowing two runs while walking three batters. She twirled four scoreless innings before giving up an RBI double to Bethany Rodriguez to put Lehman on the board in the top of the fifth inning. Three batters later, Rodriguez came around to score on a wild pitch.

Nicole Petrucci anchored the Old Westbury offense in game one with a 3-for-4 effort that included two runs scored, a run batted in and a pair of stolen bases.
Jessica Spero drove in four runs and scored two while Lauren Isaac and Alyssa Clancy scored two runs each. Serina Booth drove in two runs. Freshman hurler Alyssa Clancy notched the victory for OW in game two, posting her first career complete game shutout. She worked five innings in the circle, allowing just four hits while fanning three and walking two.

Offensively for the Lightning in game one, it was Bethany Rodriguez finishing 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Natalie Martinez also put forth a nice effort at the dish as he went 2-for-3 with a double.

Eight different Old Westbury batters scored in game two, but
Samantha Siegler did the most damage with a three-run homer over the left field fence in the second inning to score Nicole Petrucci and Serina Booth. Old Westbury tacked on eight runs in the second inning on four hits and five errors. Jessica Spero registered three RBI and Alyssa Clancy helped her own cause with two runs scored including an RBI double that scored Sherrida Maxwell.

Game two saw the Lightning record just four hits, but two were from sophomore catcher Vania Cadet as she collected a pair of singles. The other two hits were singles by Rodriguez and Claribel Herrera.

The Lightning will return to action on Saturday afternoon as Lehman takes to the road for a pair of CUNYAC games with the Hawks of Hunter College. The first game begins at noon.
