St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, five more in the bottom of the third, and then plated three additional runs to take a 10-0 lead after four innings. The Lightning kept the game alive in the top of the fifth by scoring four times to cut their deficit to 10-4, but the Bears brought two home in the bottom of the fifth to push their lead to eight and end the game.

For the Bears in game one, Danielle Marino paced her squad at the dish as she finished 3-for-3 with three singles, three runs scored, a walk, and a pair of stolen bases. Alyson Chiaramonte doubled, singled, scored three runs and drove two runs in, and Caitlyn Kakavas tripled, scored two runs, drove a run in, and walked twice. Offensively for Lehman, Kelsey Ash finished 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored, and Bethany Rodriguez tripled and had an RBI.

Game two of the afternoon saw Lehman College plate a run in the top of the first inning thanks to a leadoff homerun by Bethany Rodriguez. It was all Bears from there, though, as St. Joseph's College would plate two in the first inning, four in the second, two in the third, and two in fourth while holding the Lightning scoreless the rest of the way and eventually winning the game by nine runs in four and a half innings.

Alyson Chiarmonte pitched and got the win for the Bears in game one as she hurled four innings, allowing just one run (earned) on three hits while striking out nine. Natalie Matinez pitched game two for Lehman, and she took the loss, hurling four frames and allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on nine hits while walking four and striking out two.

For the Bears in game two, Marino finished 1-for-3 with a triple, a run scored, and three runs batted in, and Lisa Scheer went 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored, and two runs batted in. As for the Lightning, Lehman College only had two hits other than Rodriguez' solo blast in the first inning, and those hits were singles off the bats of Martinez and Fanny Souffront.

The Lightning will return to action Sunday afternoon as Lehman College travels to Staten Island for a pair of CUNYAC games with the Dolphins. Game one is scheduled to begin at noon.
