CSI Resembles Its Namesake in Win over Lightning

The Lehman men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated by the College of Staten Island in a dual meet on Saturday afternoon.

The men's team was topped in all 13 events, falling 151-63, while the women narrowly lost 112-107.

The Lehman women placed first in four events. Tanaka Nyemba captured the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:34.93; Adrianna Navarrete won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 28.79; Yocari Almanzar was tops in the 500-yard freestyle, clipping CSI's Lauren Overeem by almost three seconds with a time of 7:30.55; and Nadia Alie posted the fastest time in the 100-yard breastroke, completing the course in 1:27.83.

With the CSI men commanding the day's action, several Lightning swimmers still posted impressive showings including Mingfan Sun in the 100-yard butterfly (2nd, 1:05.08).

Both the men and women return to the pool on Tuesday when Lehman will host York College at 6:00 p.m.
