BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Lehman women's tennis team knew it faced a tall task when it drew the top-seeded Brooklyn College Bulldogs in the quarterfinal round of the City University of New York Athletic Conference Championships on Friday afternoon and in keeping with their No. 1 ranking, the Bulldogs wasted no time in sending the Lightning home quickly.

Having finished the regular season at 12-2, Brooklyn breezed through the doubles matches, benefiting from a Lightning team that only dressed five players for the match.  In No. 1 action Nellya Blinova and Patricia Cadet fell 8-1 to Yuliya Orkis and Liana Rivkin, while Marisela Camano and Aminat Adebayo were defeated by Maria Sanz and Diana Rafailova.  Lehman was forced to forfeit No. 3 doubles.

Turning to singles play, the Bulldogs picked up another win by default in No. 6 singles and then watched as No. 5, Norma Chabbott, blanked Jeremaeh Torres 6-0, 6-0.

Following Chabbott's win, the match was stopped by rule with the Bulldogs holding the 5-0 lead.

Brooklyn advances to the semifinals where it will square off against the College of Staten Island.
