BRONX, N.Y. - On Friday afternoon the Lehman women's tennis team defeated visiting Medgar Evers College 9-0 to improve its record on the season to 1-11.

Lightning No. 1 Ravnit Bhatia encountered Lehman's stiffest test of the day from her counterpart Roneke Browne, who battled hard before falling 6-3, 7-6.  Three Lightning players  - Nellya Blinova, Patricia Cadet, and Bibiana Reyes – each blanked their opponent 6-0, 6-0, while Marisela Camano toppled Sherine Elliot 6-0, 6-2 and Jeremaeh Torres stopped Sheana Griffith 6-0, 6-1.

Doubles action went just as smoothly for the Lightning with the No.1 team of Bhatia and Blinova handling Browne and Goodwin 8-0 and its No. 2 team of Camano and Cadet taking care of Elliott and LaStarr Williams 8-1.  Number three doubles was awarded to the Lightning by default.
