Pioneers Swim by Lightning in Dual Meet

WAYNE, N.J. - The Lehman men's and women's swimming and diving teams both fell to 1-1 on the season on Saturday afternoon as  they were defeated by the William Paterson Pioneers on the host's campus in Wayne, New Jersey.

The Lehman men were defeated 137-103 while the women lost 123-62.

Freshmen Ramon Peralta and Abel Dupres were double winners on the day as was junior Ivan Srdanovic.  Peralta claimed wins in the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.33) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.49) with Dupres taking the 200-yard IM (2:06.42) and 100-yard backstroke.  Srdanovic captured the 50-yard (23.01) and 100-yard (50.32) freestyle events.

On the women's side junior Adriana Navarrete earned third place in the 100-yard freestyle (1:03.85), the best finish for any Lightning female swimmer on the day.

Lehman is away from the APEX Aquatics Center for its next meet, a Friday evening affair with SUNY Purchase on November 18.
