WAYNE, N.J. - The Lehman College men's swimming and diving team picked up another win, this time against the SUNY Old Westbury Panthers Tuesday evening, by the score of 105-82 to improve to 3-1.

Lehman swimmers Abel Dupres, Christopher Polanco, Ramon Peralta, and Ivan Srdanovic set the tone for the night grabbing a win in the men's 200-yard relay (1:43.89). These swimmers earned double wins grabbing top ranks in other events individually along with Christopher Mammano, who earned victories in both the men's 1000-yard (12:42.59) and 500-yard (5:59.19) freestyle events.

On the women's side, the Lightning dropped its fifth consecutive meet by a considerably close score of 94-80. Although Alejandra Lopez could not participate due to an injury, Yocari Almanzar continued to impress Lehman fans tallying double wins in the 1000-yard (14:39.31) and the 500-yard (6:56.62) freestyle events. Junior sensation Adriana Navarrete also had wonderful night winning the 100-yard freestyle event (1:03.88) and completing the 50-yard freestyle in 28.26 which was good for second place.

“The teams did well, very well,” said head swimming coach Peter Kiernan.  “They kept their spirits up the whole meet. The togetherness of the team was obvious. All I ask of my kids is that they give 100 percent at every meet and as a result we won a couple of events against a tough school.”

The Lightning will return to the pool at Lehman's Aquatic Center on Friday to participate in a conference meet against Hunter College at 6 p.m.
