Facing a tough task with SUNY Old Westbury visiting the Bronx for a non-conference doubleheader on Friday afternoon, the Lightning did little to slow the 15-6 Panthers, who swept both games by the scores of 10-0 and 17-2 to drop Lehman to 2-14 on the season.

Old Westbury received production throughout its lineup over the two games, with six different players driving in at least two runs. Junior Samantha Siegler went 5-for-7 and collected four RBIs while sophomore Alyssa Clancy plated five in game two alone with a 2-for-4 performance. Other Panthers' players registering multiple RBI days were Nicole Petrucci, Jennifer Jean, Alex Heany, and Lauren Isaac.

In addition to her big day at the plate, Clancy shut down the Lightning in game one, allowing only a single hit to Genesis Batista over her five innings of work.

Lehman did make some noise in its half of the first inning of the second game.

Following the Panthers four run frame to start the contest, the Lightning came right back with two runs of its own with the help of some poor fielding by Old Westbury and heads up baserunning by Vania Cadet. The junior catcher took home on the back end of a steal of second by Natalie Martinez for the Lightning's first run of the game. Martinez later followed her across the plate when Isaac couldn't handle Yatnery Almonte's grounder to third.

Down only two runs, any thoughts the Lightning had of a comeback were quickly erased, though, as Old Westbury scored four runs in the second and followed that up with innings of three, two and four runs over the final four frames.

Martinez, who allowed only one walk in her last start, could not find her control, handing out eight freebies on the way to picking up the loss for Lehman.

Cadet and Pinero were the only Lightning players to collect hits, as each swatted a pair.

The non-conference schedule continues on Monday for Lehman with Mount St. Mary heading to the Bronx for a doubleheader.
