BRONX, N.Y. - The Lehman College women's tennis team fought hard but dropped a 9-0 decision to Hunter College on Friday afternoon. Hunter was the home team, despite the match being played at the APEX at Lehman.

The match was closer than the score dictates. At first doubles, Nellya Blinova (New York, N.Y./Moscow, Russia) and Ravnit Bhatia (West Nyack, N.Y./Clarkstown South) lost a tough decision, 8-5. Blinova went on to lose her singles match 6-2, 6-4, while Bhatia took her opponent to three sets before losing, 6-3, 2-6, 10-6. Also falling in three sets was Neralda Zuniga (New York, NY / Dual Language & Asian Studies) at sixth, 4-6, 6-2, 10-3.

The Lightning (5-7, 1-4 CUNYAC) will next play on Tuesday, Oct. 9, heading to York College.
