BRONX, N.Y. - Under gorgeous sunny skies on Wednesday afternoon, the Lehman softball team turned in back-to-back sloppy efforts against visiting Wesley College, losing 13-4 and 17-6 in shortened five inning affairs.

The Lightning made 18 combined errors in the two games.

In both games Lehman put itself behind the eight ball early with Wesley scoring 14 runs over the first two frames in the first game and seven over the first two frames of the second game.

Given extra outs, Wesley took full advantage when given the chance.  First baseman Nikki Barton was the hitting star for the Wolverines in the first game with a 3-for-4 effort and 4 RBIs, while Ashlyn Booth belted a solo home run in the fifth to cap the scoring.  Brynae Goodley blasted a grand slam in the second game as part of her 2-for-3 effort at the plate.

For the Lightning Vania Cadet finished 2-for-3 in the first game and Natalie Martinez smoked a two-run double to left field in the second game.

Lehman will look to rebound as the team is right back on the field on Thursday afternoon when it hosts the College of St. Elizabeth for a doubleheader on the South Field.
