NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's soccer team dropped its second straight contest, falling to rival City College, 4-0, in a non-conference matchup on Monday afternoon. Lehman is now 3-4 overall, while CCNY is 6-1 overall.

Despite both teams being members of the CUNY Athletic Conference, today's match will not count in the conference standings. The two teams will meet again later this season, on October 10, in a game that will count in the conference standings.

Lehman had not played in over a week, since a September 15 matinee against Mt. St. Vincent.

CCNY carried play and dominated statistically, outshooting Lehman 44-4, including a 17-2 advantage at the intermission. Freshman Melanie Varillas (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) started in goal for Lehman and made 11 saves over 69 minutes. Classmate Marleny Hernandez (Long Island City, N.Y./Academy of American Studies) finished the game in goal, making one save.

Lehman continues its road swing on Wednesday, heading to Queens to face York College at 4:00 p.m.
