BRONX, N.Y. – The Lehman College women's and men's swimming and diving teams swept the York College Cardinals on Tuesday evening in the Lehman College APEX. Scores were 95-61 for the women, and 97-69 for the men.

Freshman Susana Perez (New York, N.Y./Community Health) was the sole double-winner for Lehman's women's team, winning the 200-yard IM in 2:51.95, and the 100-backstroke in 1:17.68. Also winning individual events were junior Tais Estime-Kirkpatrick (New York, N.Y./LS 3) in the 1,000-free in 14.02.00, junior Jordan Leigh Perez (Spring Valley, N.Y./Mt. St. Ursula) in the 200-free in 2:50.03, freshman Christy Maldonado (Ridgewood, N.Y./Finance & Enterprise) in the 100-butterfly in 1:47.11, and freshman Vanessa Almanzar (Bronx, N.Y./Fashion Industries) in the 500-free in 8:32.92.

For the men, individual race winners were sophomore Vadim Belinschi (Bronx, N.Y./Riverdale-Kingsbridge Academy) in the 1,000-free in 13:44.20, Curtis Uwaifo (Bronx, N.Y./St. Magdeline (Nigeria)) in the 200-free in 2:56.72, junior Ryan Roberts (Cambria Heights, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) in the 200-IM, freshman Jose Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y./University Heights) in the 100-free in 59.67, sophomore Chris Polanco (Bronx, N.Y./Aviation) in the 100-back in 1:01.19, and senior Chip Shala (Queens, N.Y./John Adams) in the 100-breast in 1:10.25.

Today was the final conference meet of the year, but not the final regular season meet. The Lightning will host William Paterson University on Thursday, January 24, as Lehman celebrates its leaders on Senior Day.

The season-ending CUNY Athletic Conference Championships will once again be held at the Lehman College APEX from January 31 through February 2. Tickets to the event are free, and can be acquired at www.cunyathletics.com/tickets.
