HOLIDAY WEEKEND PREVIEW - Lehman Athletics in Action

BRONX, N.Y. – This Columbus Day weekend provides a full slate of competition for the Lehman College athletic teams. The one catch – no one plays at home.

On Saturday, October 13, the women's soccer team is at John Jay College for a noon start. The game is vital for the Lightning, as both teams are 1-2 in the CUNYAC, and in a bitter battle for the fourth and final post-season berth. The winner will have the inside track for that spot.

Men's soccer, meanwhile, will be at the College of Staten Island for a 3:00 p.m. start. This game has significant post-season implications, as both schools are in a group of teams in the middle of the pack. Five teams enter this weekend with 2-3 conference records, and this matchup features two of them.

Also on Saturday, women's tennis is at CSI for a 1:00 p.m. start. This is the team's final match of the regular season.

On Sunday, the cross country teams return to form, running in the CCNY Collegiate Classic, held at Van Cortlandt Park, here in the Bronx. The women's race starts at 10:00 a.m., with the men's race to follow.

Then on Monday, Columbus Day, the volleyball team rounds out competition, at the CUNYAC Tri-Match, held at Hunter College. The first match of the day is the premier match – and it starts at 8:00 a.m. The top two teams in the CUNYAC – Lehman and Baruch – square off. The Lightning then will face York College at noon.
