BRONX, N.Y. – On Senior Day, the Lehman College softball team dropped a pair to perennial CUNYAC powerhouse Staten Island on Tuesday night, 18-11 and 19-3.

In the opener, nine different Lightning players combined for 13 hits to score 11 runs. Second baseman Cynthia Vasquez (Queens, N.Y./CTEA) had three hits and scored twice. Senior short stop Yatnery Almonte (Bronx, N.Y./Stevenson) had two hits and three RBI, while scoring twice.

In the nightcap, Vasquez doubled and scored once.

The Lightning will host Hunter College on Wednesday night April 24, in a makeup game.
