Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. – On the first beautiful afternoon of the season, with temperatures soaring into the low 70's, the Lehman College softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader with CUNYAC-leader Baruch College, 11-0, and 16-2. The Tuesday twinbill was played on Lehman College's South Field.
In the opener, the Bearcats (7-8, 6-0 CUNYAC) scored four runs on the top of the first, jumping all over Lehman starter
Sheila San Andres (Woodhaven, N.Y./CTEA). Baruch then got four more in the third to salt the game away. The Lightning (2-15, 0-6 CUNYAC) managed four hits in the game, two coming off the bat of San Andres.
In the second game, Baruch scored in four of the five innings played. The Lightning got both runs in the bottom of the third, when senior
Janet Ortiz (Shady Hills, Fla./River Ridge) cracked a two-run homerun.
The Lightning look to rebound on Wednesday, travelling to Queens to face York College in a CUNYAC doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
