QUEENS, N.Y. – The Lehman College men's and women's swimming teams won the final CUNY Athletic Conference meet of the regular season at York College on Wednesday night. The women's score was 51-35, while the men won, 96-64. With the win, the men's team clinches a second place finish in the regular season, in advance of the CUNYAC Championships, held Jan. 30-Feb. 1, in the APEX at Lehman College.
The Lightning won the first eight events on the meet tonight, then cruised to victory.
Leading the men was senior John Fraticelli (Bronx, N.Y./New School for Arts and Sciences), who won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard backstroke. Other individual winners included freshman Carlos Alonso (Yonkers, N.Y./Saunders), sophomore Anthony Preda (Long Island City, N.Y./Basha), and sophomore Jeremy Guerra (Bronx, N.Y./Dreamyard Prep).
On the women's side, individual winners included winners sophomore Christina Lousell (Bronx, N.Y./Fashion Industries), sophomore Susana Perez (Bronx, N.Y./Community Health), and senior Aytaissa Estime-Kirkpatrick (New York, N.Y./LS3).
Lehman will head to Wayne, N.J., to face NJAC rival William Paterson in the regular season finale on Thursday, January 23.
