BRONX, N.Y. – Tonight, the women's volleyball team begins its quest for the 2014 CUNY Athletic Conference championship, as the #3 seeded Lightning host the #6 Dolphins from the College of Staten Island. The game will take place in the APEX Main Gym, beginning at 7:00 p.m.

This is one of four CUNYAC Quarterfinal Round games taking place tonight. The winner of our game will face the winner of the #2 Baruch/#7 John Jay match on Friday night at 4:00 p.m., The second Semifinal starts at 6:00 p.m., with the Finals to follow at 8:00 p.m. The Semifinals and Finals will all be played at the ARC at Baruch College.

This will mark the second consecutive season that Lehman has hosted a CUNYAC Quarterfinal match as the Lightning will look to advance to the Semifinals for the seventh consecutive season. Lehman has won the last nine meetings with the Dolphins, including two CUNYAC postseason matches, dating back to 2008.
Earlier this season, Lehman defeated CSI in straight sets, with scores of 25-23, 25-13, and 25-22. In that match, senior
Cari English led the way on offense, recording 12 kills, two service aces, and scoring 15 points. Junior
Imani Dubois chipped in with a team-high 28 assists and also had three service aces. Senior
Julia Mercado led the way on defense with 17 digs while freshman
Lizette Medina recorded 11.
