Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Lehman College softball team rebounded in a major way on Friday evening, sweeping a doubleheader at Sarah Lawrence College, 20-2, and 13-0. The Lightning scored in every inning in each game, as the team found its rhythm. Lehman is now 5-17 overall, while SLC is 0-14.
Junior pitcher Meghan Bravo (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) earned wins in both games, improving her record to 5-9, allowing just two runs, only one of which was earned, and six total hits.
In the first game, eight of the nine starters had at least on hit, led by sophomore Jona Kerluku (Ozone Park, N.Y./Construction Trade), who had four hits, four RBI, and three runs scored. Senior Sheila San Andres (Woodside, N.Y./Construction Trade) had three hits, including a two-run home run. Freshman third baseman Linda Resto (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) also had three hits, with three RBI and two runs scored.
In the nightcap, Lehman took advantage of 11 bases on balls, scoring 13 runs on only eight base hits. The big hit of the game was a two-run homerun by Bravo in the second inning. Bravo had four RBI in the game. Junior Ashley Williams (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx Leadership) also had a pair of base hits, scoring twice.
The Lightning look to continue building momentum, and travel to the College of New Rochelle on Saturday for a doubleheader.
