BRONX, N.Y.  – The Lehman College softball team dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader to NYU-Poly, 8-0 and 11-2, on Wednesday evening on the South Field.

In the opening game, senior pitcher Sheila San Andres (Woodhaven, N.Y./Construction Trade) pitched all six innings, giving up just two earned runs while fanning three batters. Senior outfielder Jelsey Cox (Queens Village, N.Y./Campus Magnet) and freshman third basemen Linda Resto (Bronx, N.Y./Lehman H.S.) each picked up a base hit.

In the second game, senior pitcher Meghan Bravo (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) drove in both of Lehman's runs on a pair of RBI singles. Resto had doubled before scoring the first run, in the second inning.

The Lightning (3-17) will hit the road on Friday, April 11, for a doubleheader at Sarah Lawrence College. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
